When SVAI, Visa and the United States African Development Foundation set out to accelerate African entrepreneurs at continental scale, they needed a platform that could reach founders where they actually are - on WhatsApp, on limited data, in three languages, across 12 countries. GotBot built it.
The Challenge:
USADF, Visa and SVAI partnered to accelerate entrepreneurship across Africa. But doing it at continental scale meant confronting three realities most learning platforms ignore:
Data is expensive. Many African founders can't afford to stream video-based courses on mobile networks. A learning platform that assumes fibre or fast LTE excludes the entrepreneurs it's meant to reach.
English isn't enough. Meaningful reach across the continent means, at minimum, English, Swahili and French - with the training experience feeling native in each, not machine-translated.
Grant funding needs proof of learning. Money can't be released on the basis of attendance. Funding must be tied to verified skill acquisition - automated, auditable and consistent across 12 countries
